{"id":108,"date":"2023-10-04T03:35:15","date_gmt":"2023-10-04T03:35:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/davidshobbies.com\/?p=108"},"modified":"2023-10-04T03:35:20","modified_gmt":"2023-10-04T03:35:20","slug":"ireland-travelogue-day-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/davidshobbies.com\/?p=108","title":{"rendered":"Ireland Travelogue &#8211; Day 5"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On my last full day in Ireland I visited Trinity College, home of the famous Book of Kells.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trinity was established in 1592, but most of the buildings I saw look to have been built in the 18th and 19th centuries.  My alma mater&#8217;s campus mostly consists of mid century brutalist buildings, which left me feeling a little bit jealous of the students. While Trinity does have its fair share of such buildings, nobody bothers with photos of them for obvious reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The highlight of visiting Trinity was seeing the Book of Kells (I&#8217;d never seen an illuminated manuscript before), but photographing the book isn&#8217;t allowed.
