Simple 3D Printed Ham Radio Stand

One of my hobbies is amateur radio. I’m primarily into HF digital modes (Olivia is my favorite), but I moved recently and haven’t figured out an antenna that will work at my new location. VHF antennas are a lot smaller, so I have one of those up and running now.

The VHF radio I have was originally intended to be mounted in a car, so it doesn’t have anything to prevent it from scratching the desk its sitting on. I’ve been slowly building up my CAD skills, so I decided to design a simple stand to keep it off my desk and allow better airflow across the heat sink.

I printed it at 35% infill, and it came out rock solid. I think this is the first print I got right on the first try.

If you’re interested in printing your own, you can grab the STL from Printables. I have the CAD files on my Github too.
